Our department
The Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering (EEE) is seeking to appoint technician professionals to provide technical and teaching support in our undergraduate curricula across Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Physics and Software Engineering. This post will provide leadership within a team delivering core modules designed to provide a strong and broad understanding of EEE fundamentals. This will cover the full range of teaching approaches, with this role critical to the design, development and delivery of our practical laboratory programmes, as well as offering opportunities to support core modules through lecture and tutorial responsibilities. The Department has an international reputation for teaching and research and is one of the premier departments in the UK. Our strong partnerships with Government, Industry and a variety of global research organizations ensure the industrial applicability of our courses and enable us to provide an excellent, high-quality, learning experience to our student population.
The opportunity
We would love to hear from you if you are educated to a minimum of HNC level in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline or have completed a relevant Modern Apprenticeship in addition to having relevant experience in a similar role, or you will have significant equivalent experience in a similar role. You will have thorough knowledge and experience of analogue/digital electronics, instrumentation and measurement and testing/fault-finding to component level. You will have a strong customer focus and a logical, analytic, systematic and creative approach to solving complex problems. You will have an ability to work autonomously and prioritise your own workload as well as others’, as required, and you will have excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a range of stakeholders.
