Delivering on its values, the University of Strathclyde is building a team of 10 experts to undertake an exciting 2 year development programme to ensure that our digital presence and content is accessible and meets regulatory compliance for all of our customers on a number of key university systems.
As the Digital Trainer, you will have an instrumental role in supporting the delivery of this ambitious, people-focused digital accessibility project with an outward facing role for the development and delivery of training key stakeholders across the University.
We are seeking an individual with a keen interest in digital accessibility and a track record of the relevant training skills and experience to join the team. You will create and present the training necessary to support digital content creators and systems developers to deliver accessible content and applications for students, applicants and staff at the university. This is an opportunity to act as a key contributor in making sure that our online presence maximises usability for our students and staff.
Reporting to the project manager and working with the rest of the project team, you will prepare guidance and training on the best accessibility practices that will be delivered through training sessions (online and in-person) and the creation of online reference documentation. You will have a close working relationship with the system tester and adjust your training materials in line with outputs from the test results.
The post holder must have a customer focussed approach, be proactive in engagement with a wide range of stakeholders and demonstrate excellent communications skills.
You will be asked to prepare a 10 minute presentation as part of the interview process to demonstrate your approach to the production of materials for both online training materials and ‘in-person’ (Zoom or Teams).
In return, you will receive ‘on-the-job’ training, a generous holiday package and be eligible to subscribe to a variety of schemes associated with being an employee of the University including: generous employer contributions to your pension; a world-class Sport Centre; family friendly policies; and various additional incentives including a Cycle Scheme. The University also has on-site childcare and parking for which you can apply.
The post is offered on a full time basis (35 hours a week). Hours are likely to be worked on a flexible basis, usually with a combination of home and campus working, in line with the University’s Agile Working Policy. All successful candidates must be willing to be located in the UK.
Interviews are scheduled to take place on 31 August 2023.
