The School of Education seeks to appoint a Research Associate for a fixed period of 6 months, to support the delivery of a research project, ‘Comparing Intersectional Life Course Inequalities amongst LGBTQ Citizens in Four European Counties (CILIA – LGBTQ)’(Scotland)’.

Bringing together an international and multi-disciplinary team of researchers, this Norface EU funded project investigates inequalities experienced by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI+) people at key transition points in the life course including: school to work transitions; employment progression in mid-life; and the transition into retirement and its implications for end of life.

The appointed Research Associate will work directly with and be line managed by Professor Yvette Taylor (Principal Investigator) at the University of Strathclyde.

The Research Associate will have a PhD in Sociology, Education, Gender Studies or cognate Social Science discipline, or be near completion. They will have experience in qualitative research analysis and publication, preferably in areas of sexuality and gender studies. The role entails engaging with relevant literatures; conducting analysis of (completed) fieldwork; analysing and interpreting findings, generate original ideas, writing production for publication; liaising with key identified organisations and co-organising Knowledge Exchange events.
