The University of Strathclyde hosts the Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre (IBioIC). IBioIC’s aim is to facilitate the establishment of a £1 billion industrial biotechnology (IB) industry in Scotland by 2025, add value to the Scottish economy and create over 1500 new jobs. IBioIC is leading the development of the necessary skills, technologies, and foster relationships to ensure this goal is met. It is funded by the Scottish Funding Council, Scotland’s Enterprise Agencies and Collaborative Grants.  

IBioIC manages two open-access Scale-Up Facilities (‘Facilities’) to support companies develop and commercialise their IB processes in Scotland. The post-holder will primarily provide business development and project management support to these facilities which include: Rapid Bioprocessing and Prototyping Centre (RapidBio, hosted at the University of Strathclyde) and the Flexible Downstream Bioprocessing Centre (FlexBio, based at Heriot-Watt University). In addition, they will work with the wider IBioIC Business Engagement team to build effective relationships with industry members and academic partners, including other open-access research facilities.  

The post will report to Dr Liz Fletcher
