The School of Education at the University of Strathclyde is the largest provider of Teacher Education in Scotland. We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Secondary English to work with students on our undergraduate and postgraduate courses for Initial Teacher Education.  

The post involves designing and delivering teaching materials, assessing students on-campus and while on placement, engaging in scholarship projects and disseminating the results through knowledge exchange activities.

Candidates will have recent  classroom experience, including evidence of managing, developing and implementing recent curricular change and Scottish Government strategic initiatives at school level.  Candidates will also have a good honours degree and PhD (or equivalent professional experience) in an appropriate discipline and have excellent knowledge of recent developments in Scottish Education. 

Candidates should also demonstrate recent experience of working with and supporting students and probationer teachers. It is essential that candidates hold full registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, or are eligible to register prior to taking up post.  A successful track record of professional experience of teaching English in the secondary school context is essential.
