Salary Range:  £33,309 - £40,927

The School of Humanities wishes to appoint a full-time (1.0 FTE) Teaching Associate on a three-year fixed-term contract to support the delivery of teaching in Journalism, Media and Communication (JMC). The School wishes to appoint an experienced digital journalist to help deliver and manage the JMC undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PGT) levels in accordance with the University’s strategic teaching and learning plans.  

 

The successful candidates will be responsible for the delivery of classes in the BA in JMC and will make a substantial contribution to the design and delivery of the MLitt in Digital Journalism. They will also participate in administrative duties at the subject (JMC) or school level.  

 

Candidates will offer practical skills–based teaching to PGT and UG students, will come from a journalism industry background and will focus heavily on digital technology. They will possess the skills to teach students how to produce effective online content including audio, video, illustrations, interactivity and data journalism as news pieces, long-form journalism, digital storytelling and short documentaries. They should also be able to demonstrate an ability to spot trends in digital journalism innovation to advance digital journalism education at Strathclyde.
