Applications are invited for this position to work on theoretical and computational studies of atomic processes of particular relevance to astrophysical plasmas under The UK APAP Network.  The main topics for application are solar opacities and solar & nebular diagnostics.  You will have a PhD in theoretical and/or computational physics in one of: atomic structure, atomic collisions, diagnostic (atomic) modelling of plasmas.  Experience of using one of the main atomic structure or collision codes of the community or extensive equivalent use of diagnostic modelling codes is essential.  The post is available from April 1st, 2018.
