Applications are invited for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry to join the Smart Materials Research and Device Technology (SMaRDT) group led by Dr Aruna Ivaturi, to work for Royal Academy of Engineering funded project to develop Battery-Supercapacitor hybrid technology.

Salary range: £31396 - £34980

Applications are invited for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry to join the Smart Materials Research and Device Technology (SMaRDT) group led by Dr. Aruna Ivaturi, who is an EPSRC Fellow, and Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor), to work for Royal Academy of Engineering funded project. As a postdoc you will work closely with Dr Aruna Ivaturi and play a key role in this project working with other experts from academic partners (Tata Institute for Fundamental Research Hyderabad, University College London, Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar) as well as industry.

 

The main aim is to develop and demonstrate, novel beyond the state-of-art low-cost Li-free battery-supercapacitor hybrid technologies. You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in Physics/Material Science/Chemistry/Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field with strong background and extensive experience (industrial or postdoc or PhD level) in electrochemical energy storage device fabrication and characterisation. You would have the ability to plan, manage, organise and prioritise your own workload and ensure that all activities are completed to deadline to achieve the corresponding deliverables and milestones. You will have excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to collaborate well with colleagues from academia and industry. You will have excellent communication skills with ability to work independently and as part of a team. A proven ability to published research in high quality journals and present research outcomes at local, national and international research meetings/workshops/conferences is expected.
